Sue TylerSue Tyler is Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer (CXO) for Medical Mutual. Prior to her appointment as CXO in 2009, Sue served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for seven years.

In Sue’s role as CXO, she is responsible for the delivery of consistent, predictable and memorable customer experiences. She provides leadership to the claims, customer service, and financial administration departments as well as the life insurance and third-party administration groups. Her team increasingly relies on analytics and new technologies to improve the customer experience in an industry undergoing dramatic change.
After beginning her career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse, Sue entered the insurance industry as Finance Manager with Progressive Insurance. At Progressive, she held a variety of management positions including Division Controller and Auto Product Manager. She left Progressive to build a large multi-state auto insurance business for a start-up division of another property and casualty company. Sue was promoted from Senior Vice President of Marketing of that business to Division President. Her experience also includes her efforts as founder and CEO of an independent start-up.

Sue received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Sue leads a number of community-building efforts including recent service as board chair of In Counsel with Women, which fosters network-building and community action among the area’s top women leaders. She is a board member of College Now, helping low-income students prepare for and graduate from college. She co-chaired United Way’s 2016 “Rock the Catwalk,’’ which raised critical funding for early childhood education and chaired the 2013 American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women’’ campaign. Sue also serves a chair of the Medical Mutual of Ohio Charitable Foundation and was recognized as a YWCA Woman of Achievement.
