Frankye Herald

Ms. Frankye Herald R.N. BSN is a graduate of Wright State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. She has been a nurse at Miami Valley Hospital for over 21 years. She began her career working with adolescent mothers and their babies in the Brighter Futures Program of Miami Valley Hospital. Since 2001, she has been the Lead Community Outreach Coordinator for the Mahogany’s Child Program of Miami Valley Hospital. Mahogany’s Child is an African American Women’s Health prevention program that provides health education and resources to our minority populations, where by assisting to help reduce health disparities with in the African American community. Ms. Herald encourages individuals to create healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families. She emphasizes the importance of early detection and diseases prevention. Her program has reached out and touched the lives of over 15,000 women, men and children in the Dayton community by way of health educational programs. She has assisted and implemented health programs in over 200 community churches and has provided four obesity prevention programs for children in Dayton area school system. Ms. Herald is a board member on numerous community and statewide committees dedicated to decreasing health disparities. Currently, she is the Chairperson for the African American Wellness Walk and the Miami Valley Youth Developing Partnership. She believes that if you are committed and passionate about helping others, you can make a difference in their lives… just don’t give up.
