Gina Stough began her diverse career path with twelve years of experience in the non-profit sector, allowing for the development of expertise working with diverse populations such as: Domestic violence survivors; teen mothers; families in poverty; and newly arrived immigrants. In her non-profit tenure she specialized in outreach and in removing systemic barriers to service by providing guidance and training for service providers in the court system, law enforcement, health care, and social services in understanding the unique service needs of people with limited English proficiency.

In 2007 Ms. Stough’s career path changed directions to civil rights law enforcement as a Bilingual Civil Rights Investigator initially for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and later for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. As an Investigator she developed expertise in compliance with state and federal laws against discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodation.

Since 2010, Ms. Stough joined FirstGroup America, a large global transportation corporation. Initially she managed the centralization of their Corporate Equal Employment Opportunity Program. In this role, Ms. Stough further developed expertise in corporate compliance, human resources, policy development, labor relations, and the prevention of employment litigation. In 2012, she was promote and currently is proud to serve as Director of Learning and Development, overseeing First Transit University’s Leadership Development programs.

Throughout her lifetime, Ms. Stough has been an active community member by volunteering with cultural and community development organizations. She served several years on the Executive Board of a non-profit networking service organization, the Latino Connection. Under her leadership, the Latino Connection established itself as a non-profit corporation. In addition, Ms. Stough has volunteered with local Latino folkloric dance troupes for over fifteen years. Since 2001, in her free time, Ms. Stough performs as a lead vocalist with Son del Caribe, a Salsa orchestra based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees with El Puente, a non-profit educational program for Latino youth and families.
