Vanessa Sandarusi serves as the Administrative Director of the Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, Sports Medicine and Pain Services at Miami Valley Hospital that is part of the Premier Health System in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on the island of Guam, a territory of the United States, and grew up in a small rural town outside of Dayton, Ohio.

Vanessa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy at The Ohio State University. She earned a dual Masters degree in Business Administration and Health Services Administration from Xavier University. Vanessa has 20 years of management experience in health care that has given her the opportunity to manage multi-disciplinary teams, develop and implement strategic plans, incorporate business turn arounds, develop and expand programs, produce high functioning teams, utilize effective human capital management principles, and develop leaders within the health care field. Her work experience spans the health care continuum in provider based physician practices, acute hospital settings, sports medicine, occupational health, inpatient rehabilitation facility, long term care, home health and outpatient services.

Vanessa was awarded a 40 under 40 winner by the Dayton Business Journal that recognizes rising young business and political leaders in the Dayton area. She was a contributing author of a self help book, “A Guide to Getting It: A Clear Compelling Vision”, that helps readers take the steps to live their life’s dreams. She has participated in the Institute of Diversity in Health Management’s program, “Preparing Emerging Minority Health Care Leaders for CEO and C-Level Roles” and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. Her volunteer efforts have been with Junior Achievement and her church’s pre-school. Vanessa’s passion is helping others reach their full potential especially in the area of enhancing one’s leadership capacity.
